Factory Visits During Canton Fair Season: Dates, Booking, and What You'll See

If you’re coming to China for the autumn Canton Fair, the factory is a short high-speed train ride from Guangzhou, and we’d rather you saw it than took our word for anything. Visits run through September and October. Book at least two calendar days ahead, and check the two holiday windows below before you plan flights.

We’re closed September 25, 26 and 27 for Mid-Autumn Festival, and October 1 through 7 for National Day. Both are fixed dates on the Chinese calendar, not flexible ones on ours.

The two windows we cannot move

Chinese public holidays work differently from what most visitors expect. The country doesn’t spread days off across the calendar. It clusters them. Mid-Autumn Festival lands on three consecutive days this year. National Day takes a full week, and a large share of the country travels during it.

So:

  • September 25, 26, 27: Mid-Autumn Festival. Three days closed.
  • October 1–7: National Day. Seven days closed.

Plan around those blocks and everything else gets easier. If your only free date falls inside one of them, tell us and we’ll arrange a video walkthrough instead. It’s not the same as standing on the line, but you’ll still see the plant and meet the people who run it.

Two calendar days is a real requirement, not a formality

We ask for two calendar days’ notice because a useful visit takes coordination. Production managers, the engineering lead, QA and whoever handles your category all need to be in the building at the same time. Turn up unannounced and you’ll get a tour guide and a meeting room. Give us two days and you’ll get the people who can answer the questions that decide whether you place an order.

Two calendar days means two whole days, not 48 working hours. Book Thursday for a Monday visit and that’s fine. Book Friday for a Saturday and it isn’t. We don’t run weekend shifts.

Send your preferred date, the number of people, and what you want to spend the time on. If you’re bringing a regulatory consultant, say so in advance. We’ll put the right documents on the table before you arrive instead of pulling them mid-meeting.

What you’ll actually see

Four things, and all of them are things you can’t evaluate from a catalogue.

The production plant. Where the devices are assembled, soldered, aged, tested and packed. Our facility covers 1,500 m² with two assembly lines, and the work is on-site: design, assembly, in-house manual soldering, aging, testing and packaging. PCBA and reflow soldering and injection moulding come from controlled suppliers, and we’ll show you those files too, including their validation reports. Ask us what we don’t make ourselves. The answer is specific, and you should hear it before you commit to volume.

The sample room. Every platform we build, side by side. Pick them up, feel the weight, compare the cooling plates, fire a flash. Specifications on a page tell you very little about how a handset feels after ten minutes in your hand.

The customization matrix. Which parts you can change and which you can’t. Shell colours, logo placement and printing method, gift box structure and finish, manual and insert design, the accessory set. If you want to know what a custom build actually costs in tooling and lead time, this is the room where that conversation becomes concrete.

The home-IPL technology milestones. How our platforms evolved from the first app-connected unit to the current range: what changed at each step, which changes came from customer complaints, and which ones we’d do differently now. It explains the price difference between our entry and premium models better than a spec table does.

Bring your regulatory questions

Half the value of a visit is the conversation, not the tour. If you’re launching at-home IPL in a new market, come with the questions that are hard to answer from a desk.

We work through this with clients constantly: what the US 510(k) pathway actually requires and what it doesn’t, how EU MDR classification plays out for a home-use device, what Health Canada and UKCA filings involve, what Gulf markets expect, and where the Australian route stands. We’ll also tell you which of those routes you don’t need. That’s the part most suppliers skip, because recommending fewer certificates earns them less.

One thing we’ll be blunt about: an FDA 510(k) clearance belongs to specific models, not to a manufacturer’s whole catalogue. Our clearance K222537 covers the platform models SKN001, SKN002, SKN005 and SKN006, plus one client’s branded unit. If a supplier tells you their factory is “FDA approved”, ask them for the K number and the model list. We’ll show you ours and the models it covers.

If you’re weighing the home hair removal category

Some visitors come to inspect a supplier. Others come to work out whether to enter the category at all.

The arithmetic is less obvious than it looks. Entry cost is genuinely low compared with most beauty hardware, but the money in this category sits closer to the supplier than the brand, and margins depend on what you can charge at retail more than on what you pay per unit. We’ll walk you through what the category actually costs to launch at different scales, and where brands tend to lose money. Sometimes that conversation ends with a smaller order than you expected. It still ends with a better one.

Custom logo printing starts at one unit, a custom gift box at 100 units, and bulk production at 500. So you can test a market with a real branded sample before committing to a container.

Where we are

The factory sits on Makan Road in Xili, on the Shenzhen side of the Pearl River Delta. It’s about 40 minutes by car from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, and the high-speed train from Guangzhou South to Shenzhen North takes around half an hour.

Save the link before you travel. If your driver searches for Makan Road alone you’ll land somewhere along a long road with no idea which building is ours.

How to book

Email service@ishineco.com or message +86 150 1289 1148 on WhatsApp or WeChat with:

  • your preferred date, with a backup
  • how many people are coming
  • what you want to cover: production, customization, compliance, category economics, or a mix
  • whether you need us to arrange an interpreter or a car from your hotel

We’ll reply with confirmation, a suggested schedule, and the name of the person meeting you. If your dates fall in the holiday windows, we’ll say so immediately and offer alternatives rather than leaving you to find out at the gate.

You’re welcome to visit whether you’re placing an order this quarter or still deciding whether the category is worth entering at all. The plant doesn’t change depending on who’s standing in it.

Hope to see you in Shenzhen this autumn.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance do I need to book a factory visit?

At least two calendar days before the day you want to come. That gives us time to line up the people you actually need to talk to (production, engineering, QA) rather than walking you past an empty line.

When is the factory closed this autumn?

September 25, 26 and 27 for Mid-Autumn Festival, and October 1 to 7 for National Day. Both windows are firm. If your trip overlaps either one, we can still do a call, but we can't open the plant.

What will I see on the tour?

The production plant, the sample room, the customization matrix (shell colours, logo placement, packaging formats), and the home-IPL technology milestones: how the platforms evolved from the first app-connected unit to what we build now.

Can we talk about regulatory requirements for our market?

Yes, and bring the awkward questions. We work through at-home IPL rules for the US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia and Gulf markets with clients, and we'll tell you what a given market requires even when it costs us a sale.

Is the visit free?

The visit is free. You cover your own travel and hotel. The factory is at Room 401, Building 5, No.37 Makan Road, Xili Street, Bao'an District, Shenzhen, Guangdong 518071. We'll send a suggested schedule once your date is confirmed.
