What is this article about?

iShine's minimum order quantity is 100 units, against the 3,000 to 5,000 units a traditional OEM factory usually requires, and a standard custom order ships in 20 to 35 working days. That order covers housing color, logo and carton printing and accessory configuration, and US sales require 510(k) clearance under product code OHT, Class II, 21 CFR 878.4810.

You Design It, We Build It, Box It

After all these years in beauty devices, we’ve learned one thing clearly: the biggest gap between a brand and a finished product is the stretch from drawing to physical object. iShine compresses the whole service logic into one sentence — you design it, we build it, we box it. Let me break that open, starting with prototyping.

Step One: Prototyping

Prototyping is the most critical step of the whole process, and the one where brand owners feel the least certain. The reason is simple: the distance between a drawing and a physical object is almost always bigger than you imagine.

Housing Color: Give Your Brand a Signature Color

The biggest problem with public-mold IPL devices is that they all look the same. Black, white, pink — the same handful of fixed colors over and over. On a shelf, consumers sweep their eyes across and can’t tell who’s who.

The housing color can be set entirely to your brand. How it’s decided depends on your brand identity and your target audience’s preferences. Send a Pantone number and we’ll reproduce that color accurately on the housing. Or combine the existing surface finishing processes — matte, glossy, gradient — and pick the texture that best fits your brand.

This step moves the product from the “anyone could have made this” tier to the “only you could have made this” tier. A small difference in color often decides whether consumers remember “a hair removal device” or “your hair removal device.”

Logo Printing: Put the Brand Where It Belongs

Color settled, the next step is the logo. How the logo gets applied directly affects overall texture, durability, and brand impression — there’s far more to it than “send the vector file to the factory.”

We have two printing methods. Digital printing is cheaper and easier, suited to small-batch prototype samples. Screen and tampo printing suit colorful logos or designs with many color layers — high color fidelity, crisp edges, suited to large orders.

Either way, we execute strictly to your brand VI files. The AI or CDR design files you send are the standard; we don’t change your design.

Carton Printing: Packaging Is the First Contact

The carton is the first place a consumer touches your brand. If the box feels wrong, the printing looks blurry, or the structure squishes under a finger, the user’s judgment of your product’s value drops instantly.

We do the whole carton chain: box structure, paper selection, printing process, surface finishing — lamination, hot foil stamping, UV coating, embossing, all the post-press steps together, all executed to your design files. Every detail of the packaging should speak for your brand.

Accessory Checklist: Everything the User Sees at Unboxing

A home IPL device isn’t just the machine. When users open the box they also see the manual, safety goggles, a shaver, the power adapter. The material, color, printing, and quality standard of every accessory shape the overall impression of the product.

At the prototyping stage, we confirm the specs and samples of all accessories in one pass — we never scramble to piece things together at mass production. Whether the unboxing feels “premium” is already decided at prototyping.

Step Two: Confirm the Minimum Order Quantity

Traditional OEM factories usually have MOQs of 3,000 units, 5,000 units, or even higher. There’s a logic behind that number: factories amortize fixed costs through large-batch production.

But that logic doesn’t apply to every brand. For a new brand or a new category entering the market, 3,000 units of inventory is hundreds of thousands — even millions — of dollars tied up in goods. If it sells well, everyone’s happy. What if it doesn’t?

iShine’s order tiers are simple: logo printing on the device starts at 1 unit, a custom gift box starts at 100 units, and bulk production starts at 500 units. That lets a brand validate the market without heavy financial pressure. Take a branded sample first to test channel response and collect user feedback, and see the product’s real market performance clearly — whether it’s an IPL device or any other beauty device. Once validation works, scale the order up.

Some people call a sample-level order lowering the barrier. I’d rather say it’s respecting the rules of business. No brand can be 100% sure a product will sell before launch — so validate with the smallest cost, don’t gamble with the biggest risk.

Step Three: Confirm Brand Image and Packaging

MOQ settled, we move into the final confirmation of brand image and packaging. Four things get locked down in this stage.

  • Logo position, size, and printing process on the machine — fixed once, final.
  • Carton structure. Box style, material, printing process, opening method — all confirmed.
  • Manual and printed materials. Content and layout finalized; specs and branding of accessories like goggles and shaver confirmed together.
  • Packing plan. How the machine, accessories, manual, and cartons fit into the outer shipping box — transport safety guaranteed, logistics cost minimized.

Once these four are confirmed, the product enters formal production scheduling.

Step Four: Delivery

After prototyping approval, plan confirmation, and production scheduling, formal production begins. Lead time depends on product complexity and the depth of customization.

For a standard custom order — including color customization, logo printing, packaging printing, and accessory configuration — the lead time is 20 to 35 working days, counted from sample confirmation and deposit receipt. Raw material sourcing, injection molding, surface finishing, logo printing, electronic assembly, full-unit testing, carton printing, accessory production, final assembly, boxing, and shipping all fall inside that window. Every step has clear standards and traceable milestones. There’s one item in the standards that new brands miss most easily: in the US, home IPL devices fall under FDA product classification as Class II devices — the product code for light-based over-the-counter hair removal devices is OHT, 510(k) clearance is required before marketing, and the corresponding regulation number is 878.4810. Skip this step and the product can’t be legally sold in the US.

If you need to rush, the schedule can sometimes be compressed, but that usually touches cost — it has to be discussed in advance.

All You Need to Do Is Send the Design

Many brand owners imagine working with a factory as a long back-and-forth, full of surprises and problems that never end. When the process is designed clearly enough, it can be simple.

  1. You send the design — even a bare concept is fine.
  2. We assess structural feasibility and give an initial round of feedback.
  3. We complete prototyping and customization — color, logo, packaging, accessories all together.
  4. You confirm the sample and the plan.
  5. We run small-batch production starting at 100 units.
  6. Within 20 to 35 working days, the product is boxed and handed to the logistics carrier.

You don’t need to maintain a string of contacts across the supply chain, and you don’t need to separately coordinate mold shops, injection molding plants, printing houses, packaging plants, or assembly lines — we take all of that coordination on ourselves. You only confirm the results.

That’s what “you design it, we build it, we box it” means. You focus on the brand and design; we turn the product from a drawing into something sitting on a real shelf.
