What is this article about?

Shenzhen iShine Technology shipped five IPL platforms since July 2021, from the Lumi to the May 2026 Helix with sapphire cooling and 9 energy levels, and holds FDA 510(k) clearance K222537. The Venus Pro swaps a parallel lamp circuit for a dual-lamp series circuit, raising equivalent resistance fourfold and cutting capacitor charging current to a quarter.

We are Shenzhen iShine Technology Co., Ltd, an IPL device manufacturer founded in July 2021. This page is a technology timeline — not a marketing highlight reel, but the actual order in which we shipped products, added engineering capabilities, and took devices through compliance. If you are evaluating IPL suppliers, the useful question is not “how long have you been around” but “what did you build, in what order, and can you prove it.” This is that record, written by the R&D team that built it. You can see every platform we ship today in the IPL device lineup.

The Timeline at a Glance

TimeMilestone
Jul 2021iShine founded in Shenzhen
Dec 2021Lumi — first IPL platform: dual-airflow cooling structure + UV filter
Dec 2022Themis — salon-grade: metal cooling tip + safety lock
Dec 2024Venus — sapphire ice-cooling platform; Venus Pro adds dual-lamp series circuit
Dec 2025Lumi 2 — skin-tone sensor + sapphire cooling + IML display
May 2026Helix — newest flagship: sapphire cooling, 9 energy levels
Before Dec 2026Venus Pro dual-lamp series circuit goes live

Why the Order Matters

A brand that shows up today and says “we make IPL devices” is not telling you much. The order of that timeline above is the more honest signal. We started with a single platform in 2021, added professional-grade hardware in 2022, introduced contact cooling in 2024, and layered in sensing and display technology in 2025. Each step built on the last, which is how an IPL device factory is supposed to work — you validate one architecture, then extend it.

The Technologies That Define Each Platform

Dual-Airflow Cooling Structure (Lumi, 2021)

Our first differentiator was not skin cooling — it was protecting the optical filter. The Lumi uses a dual-airflow thermal management system: independent airflow channels draw heat away from the precision optical filter, the sealed airflow path keeps dust out and prevents abrasion, and the whole design keeps spectral output stable across the device’s life. That was the engineering bet we made first, before anything else.

Metal Cooling Tip + Safety Lock (Themis, 2022)

The Themis moved us into professional-grade territory: a metal cooling tip for contact comfort and a safety lock to prevent accidental flash. It also introduced skin rejuvenation as part of the treatment stack.

Sapphire Ice Cooling (Venus, 2024)

The Venus brought sapphire contact cooling — a cold window against the skin rather than a fan inside the chassis. This is the comfort technology that keeps people actually finishing a 12-week course. We cover the contact-cooling hardware separately on the cooling system page.

Dual-Lamp Series Circuit (Venus Pro, before Dec 2026)

The Venus Pro upgrade replaces a parallel lamp circuit with a dual-lamp series circuit. Compared with parallel designs, the equivalent resistance is four times higher, which cuts capacitor charging current to one quarter and extends pulse duration to 5–10 ms. The result is gentler energy release — more comfortable, easier on sensitive skin. It is the next step in the Venus line.

Skin-Tone Sensor + IML Display (Lumi 2, 2025)

The Lumi 2 added automatic skin-tone detection — a safety feature that keeps darker skin from receiving too much energy — plus an IML (in-mold labeling) display built directly into the housing, which is more scratch-resistant and lets us keep the profile thin.

Certifications: What We Hold, and What “Cleared” Actually Means

Every one of these is a compliance milestone, not a sticker. Here is the record, with the language we actually use:

CertificationYearNote
CE marking2022EU market
FDA 510(k) cleared (K222537)2022Class II home-use IPL — “cleared,” never “approved”
EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC)2022
RoHS2022
FCC2022
ETL / cETLus2022
Biocompatibility testing2022+ 2024 re-test
IEC 62471 photobiological safety2022
Canada MDL2023
UKCA2024
PSE2024Japan

A note on FDA wording, because it matters more than most people think: a device that goes through the FDA 510(k) pathway is cleared, not “approved.” “Approved” is reserved for the PMA pathway used by higher-risk devices. When a seller calls a home IPL device “FDA approved,” that is loose language. Ours is FDA-cleared under K222537, and the number is searchable in the FDA 510(k) database. We also hold FDA establishment registration 3021338880 and Canadian MDEL 177237.

What This Means If You Are Building a Brand

For a brand owner, a manufacturer’s timeline is a due-diligence shortcut. The question you are really asking is: does this factory understand the whole chain, or just assembly? The timeline above is our answer — we have taken devices from concept through optical filters, cooling systems, certification, and production, repeatedly, over five years and five platforms. That repeatability is what a brand is actually buying when it signs an OEM or ODM agreement.

If you want to see the platforms behind this timeline, browse the full IPL device lineup. If you want to build on one of them — or start from a new spec — that is our private-label program.

The Bottom Line

Five years, five platforms, one through-line: every device we ship has to hold its energy output, pass its compliance checks, and stay comfortable enough that a real person finishes the full course. That is the standard the timeline above was built against. See what we build today in the IPL device lineup, or talk to us about the platform behind your brand.
